by | Audio, Facilities, News, Production

SynAudCon has announced the release of two new online courses, including “Equalization — A Systemic Approach To Sound System Tuning” (Course 130)” and “Advanced Equalization — Equalization With Greater Breadth And Depth” (Course 210).

Both courses were developed by SynAudCon leader Pat Brown based on his 30-plus years of system tuning experience, and he notes, “Understanding measurement and room acoustics is the key to effective equalization.”

In a direct, systematic and orderly approach, “Course 130 Equalization” covers the core concepts of measurement and room acoustics and applies them to the equalization process. The course is designed to improve proficiency on a simple 1/3-oct RTA or an advanced PC-based measurement system. Price is $299.

Meanwhile, “Course 210 Advanced Equalization” replicates the Course 130 material but includes additional lectures that address the finer points of measurement, filters and the system tuning process. Also included are lectures on phase, group delay, wavelets, IIR and FIR filters are. Price is $399.

Course 130 presents 39 instructional videos, demos and case studies, with Course 210 offers 18 additional lecturers. Attendees have access to the training for 45 days, video transcriptions, instructional images and quizzes, and can download a detailed course outline. The courses are approved 18 to 22 RUs and 9 to 11 Cedia CEUs.
