Daking Announces New Mic Pre 4T

by | Audio, Gear, News, Production

TransAudio Group, U.S. has announced the new Daking Mic Pre 4T, based on the Daking Mic Pre One and Mic Pre II/T while adding four variable high-pass filters to four high-gain/high-headroom microphone preamplifers in a single rack space unit.

Each preamp channel offers a complement of controls that include 75 dB of gain, +24 dB of headroom, variable high-pass filter (from 10-200 Hz), front-panel DI, 48-volt phantom power, phase invert and 20 dB pad along with a high-resolution 20-segment LED meter and +25 dB indicator.

The “low-distortion” Jensen input and output transformers are designed to provide more linear low-end performance under extreme dynamic conditions. Daking’s own variable high-pass filter can be used to dial out low-frequency “mud” that can be subsonic and will decrease available headroom. Built in the USA, Daking uses high-end parts such as the Jensen input and output transformers and all-discrete transistor Class A circuitry.

Daking’s variable low-pass filters make it possible to have a different low-filter setting on each of the four input channels, preventing unwanted over saturation of the transformer. The Instrument DI passes through the linear Jensen output transformer.

The new Daking Mic Pre 4T is shipping now at a U.S. MSRP of $2,999. Go here for more specifics.

The King Is Dead and I Don’t Feel So Good Myself

They say audio is king—but based on what I’m seeing in churches lately, I think the LED wall manufacturers may have put a hit out on him. It’s not hard to grasp. If you’ve got a limited budget—and let’s be honest, who doesn’t?—most would agree that audio should come...
