Nanolumens Dazzles Attendees at InfoComm 2023

by | Gear, Production, Video

Nanolumens, world-class innovators of visionary dvLED solutions, ramped up their booth experiences at the InfoComm in Orlando, FL, where attendees were thrilled by two entertaining booths and educational experiences from Nanolumens and partners.

Nanolumens CRO Kurt DeYoung described their booth as “A thrill ride that offers a new way to discover the capabilities of Nanolumens’ displays through interactive experiences offered in our main booth as well as a new experience we’re powering, created by Moment Factory for AVIXA’s Interactive Experience. This activation, called Ethereal Entities, utilizes Nanolumens dvLED screens and was created through Kinect, scanning, and tracking technologies.”

In addition to this interactive experience, the booth featured several large videowall displays with content and digital artistry from FusionCI, Moment Factory, Render Impact, DreamLabs, Gentilhomme, and an interactive station created with Float4.

“We’re also excited to have featured Megapixel’s HELIOS Processing Platform, which has interchangeable input formats including ST2110. Helios is the only LED processor in the market to offer native ST2110 ingestion with IPMX ready capabilities” says DeYoung.

DeYoung also mentions Nanolumens newest product in the Nixel Flex line, a 0.9mm pixel pitch True Curve™ videowall.  “In addition we have our new Engage Pro Series COB dvLED, and a new remote monitoring platform, NanoSuite in partnership with Smart Monkeys. This powerful tool can control, monitor, and manage complex display systems from one location.”

“Our collaboration with Smart Monkeys provides designers, architects, and system integrators more control over their most complex dvLED screen networks”, says Brice McPheeters, VP of Product and Planning.

My Love-Hate Relationship with the De-esser

I don’t remember ever using a de-esser in the early days of my recording career. Sure, there were a few clever engineers who would side-chain a compressor to tame certain frequency ranges, but that was rare and not always used on vocals. If a vocal was harsh or overly...
