Events like the civil unrest across the world following the death of George Floyd by police in 2020 showed that when the unexpected strikes, emergency action plans need to be in place already so staff and volunteers are prepared to respond appropriately in an emergency. With an increase in mental illness, workplace violence, cyber attacks and internet outages, churches are starting to ask, ”Are we ready, even for what we can’t yet imagine happening?”
