CFX 2022 Will Feature Special Loudspeaker Demo

by | Audio, Church Facilities Expo, Production

Next month, the Church Facilities Expo (CFX) will feature a special Loudspeaker Demo, sponsored by Live Sound. Held both days of the regular conference and expo, October 25 and 26, the demo will feature loudspeakers from 7 manufacturers, including RCF, Reinkus-Heinz, TW Audio, Biamp, Innovox, Ocean Way Audio, and Crest Audio. Attendees will have opportunities to compare systems as well as hear from manufacturers specifically on the features that help their products stand out from the rest.

The systems

At the demo, attendees will be able to listen to and evaluate both compact and portable loudspeakers in a controlled listening environment. Demo guides will be provided that outline each systems components and technical information.

Round-robin sessions

Three full round-robin sessions each day will feature all participating manufacturers. Multiple tracks will be played through both the smaller, portable systems, as well as the higher output, compact systems to demonstrate the difference in audio quality from system to system.

Individual sessions

On both days of the event, all manufacturers will present individual demo sessions, a great way to both hear and learn more about specific systems as well as further products and services each company provides.

My Love-Hate Relationship with the De-esser

I don’t remember ever using a de-esser in the early days of my recording career. Sure, there were a few clever engineers who would side-chain a compressor to tame certain frequency ranges, but that was rare and not always used on vocals. If a vocal was harsh or overly...
